Cooper Rv. Bridge Run

This weekend I am on spring break and I went to Charleston and was one of 38,600 people who participated in the 32nd annual Cooper River Bridge Run. It is a 10K (6.2 miles) run that includes walking over the nearly 3 miles Arthur Ravanell Jr. Bridge.
After completing the run we stayed in Charleston for another few days. I love Charleston. It is so beautiful everywhere there.
Pictures:
The first picture is of my future inheritance... Boone Hall Plantation. No I am not kidding, that is really it's name. It was built by one John Boone in the 1700's. Now I'm not sure if I'm a legitimate descendent but how cool would that be! Boone Hall is one of the most photographed plantations in the US. It was the site of films such as the Patrick Swayze classic North and South, Alex Haley's Queen, and scenes from The Notebook were also filmed there.
The second is of when we went on the Charleston Harbor tour. That picture is of real bottlenose dolphins in the wild. I know... you're jealous.
The third photo is  me, Torrye, Jane, Mom, and Walter after we finished the race. Getting that group photo is a funny story. The first person we asked to take the picture was this old man on the side of the street. We are not sure where we are in the picture he took. It would appear that he shot right over our heads. This photo was our second attempt. The very nice lady actually got us in the picture. Good for her.
The fourth and final picture is of bridge. There are snipers on top during the run. How cool is that?
That was my Charleston trip. Now I spend the rest of my spring break in idle boredom... which is perfectly fine with me. :)

New Name

So I am changing the name of site to southerngirl5252.blogspot.com if I can figure out how. So check back on southerngirlxx.blogspot.com and if there is nothing there then go to the new site. :)

So there are some of the awesome spring time pictures I took on Tuesday. I LOVE spring! It is by far my favorite season. All the pretty flowers and once we get past March there weather isn't freezing cold but it's not burning up either. *contented sigh* Oh spring.

So I have no really interesting story to tell today.... I lead a pretty boring life most of the time. Go to school... come home.... do homework... sleep... more school. I'm told this is the average teenager's life but come on... how lame and boring is that.

So I had a really cool God moment today... I have just been really tired and out of it this week... I guess I'm not sleeping well or something... and today I mean I was just out of it. I can't even tell you what happened 1st and 2nd period. I just wasn't even there. So by 3rd period I was just like "OK Lord... I can't keep functioning like this. I just am not here. I'm like in some fog. Please just let me go home or something that takes me away from school!" The funny thing about God is that He tends to answer our prayers but not in the way we had planned. Sure enough by the time 4th period rolled around I was full of energy and was wide awake the rest of the day. I'm sure God was chuckling at me. :) I've heard some people say that God doesn't have a sense of humor but anyone who has ever glanced at a giraffe cannot say that. I'm sure God just randomly has a nice little laugh at that tall, awkward, honkin' giraffe. Funny little creatures. And by little I mean huge.

(side note: Please don't post a link to my blog on your blogs. I really only want people I tell about my blog to have access. Thanks.)

Oops

So I totally forgot about my blog. My bad. Well I've remembered now... Thank you Jenny.

So my original thought was to have some kind of random yet interesting story to go with each thought. So...

I was running Swamp Rabbit Trail this afternoon. If you have never been to Swamp Rabbit Trail you should really go pay it a visit. It is classic TR. Anyways... So I get on the trail, and at one part there is this really old abandoned train station. I mean this place is where everyone would get murdered in a movie. So I get there and there are all these cop cars and ambulances around that part of the trail... my initial thought... Gang violence... very big city and exciting. However when I get closer, I see that they are leading away this really bummy looking old man. So what happened? You decide... (cause I have no idea) Submit your answers if you like. :)

So March is such a confused little month. One day it's snowing, the next, it's 70 degrees outside, and then today it's pouring down rain. My goodness! Poor little March just doesn't know what to do with itself. But on the upside, all the pretty flowers are blooming and I took some pretty awesome springtime pictures yesterday. So maybe poor little March does have some redeeming qualities.

Ist time

I have been told by various sources that I should start a blog since I am anti-Facebook so here I go... well I am officially a full fledged blogger. I do think this could be fun. I'm not very good at the whole journaling thing but maybe if it's on the computer... we shall see. I will try not to be incredibly dull or boring in my posts. Well this has been fun but now I must depart. Adios amigos.
